Letters Worst diet ever
IN REGARDS TO “A Primer on Paleo” (No- vember 2016, p. 51), I am quite shocked that CPA Magazine disseminated info on the cardiovascular-disease-promoting paleo fad diet, which has been called one of the worst diets by dieticians. If CPAs are to promote lifestyle excel-
lence, why not quote reputable research sources promoting whole-foods plant- based diets, which were (scientifically) proven to prevent and reverse many of the modern crippling diseases? Here are but a few examples of the top-notch sources: Dr. David Jenkins of the Univer- sity of Toronto; Dr. Kim Williams, for-
mer president of the American College of Cardiologists; or the World Health Organization, which in 2015 released re- sults of more than 800 epidemiological studies from around the world proving processed meat consumption is can- cerous. No doubt we won’t have to wait much longer for another study that will prove the obvious: the dead belong to the cemetery not the human stomach. Instead of hyping the primitive paleo
lifestyle, we might consider more evolved ancestors as our mentors: ancient Egyp- tians, who lived meat-free for more than 3,000 years and considered flesh-eating individuals as barbarians.
That would be more in line with CPA
values of excellence and value creation. Iwona Roslonek VANCOUVER

over the past two years with seemingly no end to the losses. Lyſt, its closest com-
