Kovatch Castings Celebrates 40th Anniversary Green Company marks 40 years of service to aerospace, military, firearms, medical, and general industries

Kovatch Castings is celebrating its

40th anniversary as an industry leader in ferrous and non-ferrous investment castings. The family owned and operated company was founded in 1976 by Frank Kovatch with humble beginnings. He was undercapitalized and began with well used equipment in a small building in Akron, Ohio. In the beginning, it was a struggle, but Frank was determined. In 1984, the company landed significant new business and was able to buy their first pieces of new equipment. In 1991 Frank moved the company into a brand new building in Uniontown (Green), Ohio, where the company continues operation today. Frank’s

son, Doug Kovatch, took

the helm in 2000 and proceeded to place the business in a position for rapid physical expansion and new certifications, including the respected ISO 9001:2000, AS9100, and Nadcap, all of which have made the organization globally competitive.

Doug put his expansion plan in motion with the purchase of additional land and a neighboring building. His next goal was completed and housed a

state-of-the-art robotic shell system and a two-story shell drying system. A second addition brought the company’s total square footage to 70,000 square feet, including a new foundry area with two state of the art self-recuperating pusher ovens, a metals lab and increased space for other operations as well. “We have continued to grow Kovatch Castings with care, involvement, and continued improvements. Our 40th year includes the installation of a new ERP system and two additional automation robots next year. “We at Kovatch Castings are

very thankful to our many customers, vendors, and staff for making this anniversary possible,” said Doug Kovatch. “The loyalty of our customers, the support of our vendors, and the dedication of our staff have shaped our company through the years. Our great hope is that we will continue to earn the trust of everyone who has made Kovatch Castings successful and that we will also continue to make our world a little better place by rewarding our people and supporting our community and many worthwhile organizations.”

by the late Robert Peaslee, a brazing pioneer who invented the first nickel- based brazing filler metal, Wall Colmonoy offers a fall session of Modern Furnace Brazing School on November 8-10, 2016 at Aerobraze Engineered Technologies’ Brazing Engineering Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Engineers,

technicians,

quality

managers, production managers, and others will participate in “hands-on” practical applications while learning about brazing technology from the industry’s leading brazing engineers. For over 60 years, Wall Colmonoy engineers have been gaining practical experience on actual problems in brazing plants around the world. Unlike other classroom-only

seminars, Brazing School attendees will tour the facility and see the actual brazing application on the shop floor. They will also have the opportunity to apply different forms of filler metal to supplied samples, have them vacuum brazed and discuss the outcomes. For seminar details and registration information, contact Jim Nicoll at brazingschool@wallcolmonoy.com, or call 248.585.6400, ext. 233 or visit the website: www.wallcolmonoy.com/ brazing-school/
