Landfall at Bawdsey with onshore transition pits to connect the offshore and onshore cables;
Onshore converter station adjacent to the existing onshore substation at Bramford; and
Underground onshore export cables (37km long) between the landfall at Bawdsey and the onshore converter station.
7.
The application for the East Anglia ONE Offshore Windfarm included, as well as its own onshore infrastructure, onshore cable ducts for the proposed East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR projects. To minimise disruption to local communities, it is hoped it will be possible to install this ducting at the same time as the onshore export cables are laid for East Anglia ONE. However, this is subject to consent. Therefore, for the purposes of this high level HRA screening process, a precautionary position has been identified of open trenching for the proposed East Anglia THREE project, rather than assuming that ducts are available to be used.
