8.10 Summary


117. This chapter discusses the existing marine water and sediment quality within the vicinity of the proposed East Anglia THREE project. The impact assessment has taken into account the general requirements of key European and national legislation and policy concerning environmental quality standards for chemical contaminants and guideline values to determine sediment quality.


118. A review of existing literature as well as data obtained from a site specific survey has determined that sediment and water quality throughout the East Anglia THREE site and offshore cable corridor is considered to be generally good, with the offshore sample stations having lower levels of contamination than the nearshore stations.
