176 Where deemed necessary, human remains would be recorded in situ and subsequently lifted, packed and marked to standards compatible with those described in the Institute of Field Archaeologists' Technical Paper 13: Excavation and post- excavation treatment of Cremated and Inhumed Human Remains, (McKinley & Roberts).
177 Removal would take place under appropriate regulations (normally a licence is required from the Ministry of Justice) and with due regard for health and safety issues and the requirements of the Burial Act 1857. Human remains are to be treated at all stages with care and respect.
1.11.7 Treasure
178 In the event of discovery of artefacts covered or potentially covered by The Treasure Act 1996 and subsequent legislation, their excavation and removal would be undertaken following notification of the relevant archaeological curator.
