12.7 Cumulative Impacts
490. As outlined in section 12.4.4 the CIA will consider plans or projects where the predicted impacts have the potential to interact with impacts from construction, operation or decommissioning at East Anglia THREE.
491. The CIA includes plans or projects with any potential impacts occurring from the end of the project baseline (August 2013) until the end of the project. The types of plans projects to be included in the CIA, and the approach to screening based on the stage of the plan or project (accounting for uncertainty in the tiered approach) as well as the quality of the data available has been agreed with Natural England at ETG meeting 2 and 3, and is provided in Appendix 12.1.
492. Types of impact considered in the CIA have also been agreed in consultation and are summarised in Table 12.18. The CIA considers the three types of impact (underwater noise, indirect impacts and direct interaction) from all phases of any plan or project where there is the potential to overlap with East Anglia THREE. Plans and projects within the agreed reference population boundaries for harbour porpoise, harbour seal and grey seal have been screened in for each species as appropriate. Each receptor is assessed for each type of impact separately.
493. Each plan or project with a potential impact (as outlined in Table 12.18) within the reference population boundary for each receptor was assigned to a tier (Table 1 ETG meeting 2 briefing paper in Appendix 12.1). Plans or projects assigned to the tier identified in Table 12.11 were screened into the assessment. The results of the screening are summarised in Table 12.19, details of the projects are provided in Appendix 12.5.
Table 12.18: Impacts considered within the CIA Phase of plan or project
Impact Construction Noise Indirect impact Operation Details

Direct interaction Collision risk (hull impacts, ducted propellers) Noise
Indirect impact Decommissioning Noise Indirect impact
Wind turbine or other mechanical operational noise, vessel noise, disposal noise, dredging noise. Prey species
Direct interaction Collision risk (hull impacts, ducted propellers, tidal turbines)
