The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Coaching Awards 2013 winners:


McDonald’s Community Grassroots Coach of the Year:


Mathew Smith Mathew Smith is a grassroots coach at AFC Kempston U11s. Currently in his fourth year with the team, Mathew also finds the time to help with a number of Kempston’s other youth teams regularly stepping in to help, guide and support.


Disability Coach of the Year: Michelle Wilcock


Michelle Wilcock is an inspirational coach working in The FA’s Disability Player Development Centre Programme in Manchester and The FA’s Regional Centre of Excellence Programme in the North West.


Talent Coach in the Female Game: Emma Jenks


Emma is the U17s Head Coach at Manchester United Girls’ Centre of Excellence, a role she combines with her job as Sports Development Manager in Oldham.


Outstanding Contribution Award – Football League – Youth Development Coach:


Chris Tucker


Chris has been a coach at Leicester City for over 20 years and currently works as Academy coach in the Youth Development Phase. Chris possesses a great enthusiasm for life which he transfers into his coaching sessions and work with young players.


Outstanding Contribution Award – Football League – Professional Development Coach:


Elite Women’s Football Coach of the Year: Mo Marley MBE


Mo Marley is the Head Coach of the England Women’s U19s. She has been in the role since 2001 and has taken the team to four UEFA Women’s U19s Finals in seven years, winning the tournament in 2009. As a player she was a powerful centre back and was capped by her country 41 times between 1995 and 2001.


Goalkeeper Coach of the Year:


Tony Parks Tony is currently Senior Goalkeeping Coach at Tottenham Hotspur, a role he has held since 2007. Heurelho Gomes, Brad Friedel and Hugo Lloris are just some of the world-class international goalkeepers Tony has worked with on a daily basis.


Andy Awford Andy Awford is Portsmouth FC’s Academy Manager, a role he began in 2011. Often working in challenging circumstances the former Pompey defender has demonstrated an unflinching and resilient commitment for developing the club’s academy and has played a major part in re-establishing the club’s youth programme.


Outstanding Contribution to Youth Development:


Tony Carr MBE For over 40 years West Ham United’s Youth Academy Director, Tony Carr, has worked with tireless dedication and expertise to develop the next generation of young professional players.


Outstanding Contribution Award – Football League - Foundation Coach:


Gary Probert Gary Probert is Bristol City’s Lead Foundation Phase Coach working with the club’s 5-11 aged players.
