Right, you lot: summer’s over and it’s time to get back to work – no dawdling! It certainly feels that way here at BBT Towers. First, the September 14 deadline is looming for those all-important entries for the Business Travel Awards 2016 (see p46) – don’t miss your chance to shine in the spotlight

on the industry’s biggest night of the year. Second, we’re gearing up for our next two BBT Forums. We

get great feedback on these popular events, where travel buyers debate topical issues and share knowledge with peers. The next Dublin Forum is on September 22, and explores best practice in risk management and duty-of-care. Then we’re in London on October 2, discussing distribution and traveller behaviour. There are still some free invitations available – if you would like to attend, or want information on the awards, or any other of our events, contact our events manager Emma Gordon directly at events@panaceapublishing.com And there’s more: I’m also looking forward to hosting our next

Editor’s Lunch on September 24, where, with our partner SACO and a small group of readers, we’ll discuss accommodation programmes while enjoying a delicious lunch in exclusive surroundings. Tough job! Plus, on September 30, we’re teaming up with American Airlines to host a splendid evening showcasing its premium products, with cocktails, canapés and DJs (see p7). For both these events, we have some complimentary places for travel buyers – please drop Emma a line if you’d like to attend. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this issue. Our cover story (p62) looks at creative approaches to travel management challenges, while our feature on integration (p52) finds how synchronising policies and processes across departments can benefit your business. Lufthansa’s GDS fee has sparked a wide-ranging debate about the evolution of distribution and the relationships between all elements of the supply chain – which you’ll find discussed and analysed throughout the magazine.

Keep in touch, and I hope you can join us at one of our events soon.
