FEC Heliports Products Achieve Certification.

FEC Heliports Worldwide recently announced their HEMS-Star® portable, battery-powered LED helipad

lighting system and

Remote Lighting Controller have achieved FCC certification for operation in the USA and CE certification for Europe.

HEMS-Star® portable,

microprocessor-controlled in

is a rechargeable, battery-powered, LED

lighting system designed for rapid deployment

temporary and

emergency situations. It provides safe and effective marking at designated or ad-hoc helicopter landing areas.

FEC’s Remote Lighting Controller (RLC) enables an operator or pilot to remotely control helipad lighting systems. The system integrates both traditional VHF, PCL, and adds SMS control and monitoring with the option of automatic weather reporting (wind speed/ direction, temperature, dew point, and pressure) from the helipad.

The FCC certification is a declaration

of conformity that

certain electronic devices sold in the USA meet stringent requirements, while the CE certification is the manufacturer’s declaration that the product meets the requirements of EC directives.

Argentina Certifies Simulators at Helicopter Flight Training Center

The Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) Argentina has certified three simulators at the Helicopter Flight Training Center (HFTC) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Two inspectors recently spent time at the HFTC and certified the EC135 Level D full-motion simulator, AS350 Level 7 flight training device and BH407 Level 7 flight training device for Argentinian pilots.

The inspectors were required to review the training center’s paperwork and fly each simulator for a minimum of two hours to grant the certification. They will return in the fall to certify the EC145 Level D full- motion simulator and the BH407GX Level 7 flight training device, which recently earned the FAA certification.

“We are excited to host even more international customers due to our new certification,” said HFTC Director Terry Palmer. “Our training center is equipped with simulators for some of the most popular airframes in the industry and we want to offer them to customers worldwide.”
