With a continuous operating temperature of 180°C, the flexible and oil resistant resin allows a single material part to replace a hard-soft multi-material combination in some applications (although DSM points out its Diablo heat stabilised PA offers continuous service temperature of more than 200°C). DSM says Arnitel HT will launch shortly on a high volume European vehicle fitted with ducts manufactured by Spanish automotive components group Cikautxo, part of Mondragon. DSM will also show a Samsung Galaxy Gear S2

smartwatch using a strap injection moulded in Arnitel and a full range of potable water connectors and tap parts moulded in 50% glass reinforced EcoPaxx Q-DWX10 PA410. ❙

ELIX Polymers is exhibiting a number of new grades of ABS. These will include: grades with extra-low volatiles; high-heat ABS for automotive applications; and new metal platable grades of ABS. It will also show its blends of ABS with biopolymers and natural fibres. ECO ABS-NF is said to fulfill some of the most demanding requirements of the automotive industry, offering mechanical properties claimed to be equal to or better than traditional glass fibre reinforced ABS. ❙

Finke will focus its plastics colorants and decorative additives display on two key areas: special effect pigments and laser marking. It will also show the results of a collaboration with Movacolor to provide a

ready-to-use liquid dosing system for plastics process- ing operations. The company’s FibaPlast, FibaKeft and FibaComp

masterbatches allow processors to incorporate a range of special effects, including metallic, pearlescent, rainbow and flip-flop. The company says the additives can be combined to provide lacquered and soft-touch finishes, as well as fragranced formulations. Fibasol liquid colorants are comprised of a pigment in a liquid binding agent. They are temperature resistant and non-fading and can be used with a wide range of polymers, including PET, PP and PE. ❙

Hexpol TPE will launch a range of new TPEs formulated to deliver enhanced haptics and touch properties. Dryflex Touch TPEs are designed to give a superior silky feel and soft-touch sensation and are targeted at applications such as wearable devices, consumer electronics, smartphone and tablet protective cases, wrist straps, grips, cosmetics and packaging. Dryflex Touch TPEs are available in a range of

hardnesses from 30 to 90 shore A and are easy to colour. Key features include a smooth and velvety feel that is non-sticky and easy to clean. The materials also offer good scratch and abrasion resistance, which helps to enhance the durability, appearance and aesthetics of the final application. The TPEs are compliant with food contact regulations and representative Dryflex Touch grades have been tested in accordance with ISO 10993-10:2010 for irritation and skin sensitisation, where they were shown to have no sensitisation potential and classified as a non-sensitiser. They have also passed in vitro cytotoxicity tests according to ISO 10993-5:2009. Dryflex Touch TPE compounds are well suited to injection moulding and the product line includes grades that can be overmoulded onto substrates such as PP, PE, ABS, PC and TPU for multi-component applications. ❙
