DOMOTEX CHINA FEATURE


The construction boom in China, especially the trend towards refurbishing older properties, is responsible for the sustained growth in the demand for products made in the West. China has seen a rapid growth of the country’s more affluent middle and upper classes. This social trend is reflected by increased interest in brand-name flooring products produced in certain countries. The demand for foreign imports has also been positively affected by the shift in attitude with respect to healthy living and design awareness.


“Colour your Success in Flooring” is the slogan adopted for the 17th DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR, the international B2B trade fair for floor coverings. This title not only expresses the special flair of the show, but also reflects the current upswing in the Asian construction and flooring markets. From 24th to 26th March 2015, the trade fair will highlight current trends from across the industry, while the inclusion of new keynote themes, supported by a relevant and informative conference program, will fuel further growth.


When the last event closed in last March, the organisers had already recorded the highest ever number of registered exhibitors. But this figure has been exceeded in the past six months due to the rush of applications to exhibit. In this time, no less than 73% of the total exhibition space has been booked.

While many of us will be getting ready for DOMOTEX in Hannover this January, Shanghai is gearing up for a sister event DOMOTEX Asia/ CHINAFLOOR, in the spring.

International Exhibition Centre. Five exhibition halls are dedicated to rugs, carpets and textile floor coverings, while four further halls will house displays of the latest parquet, laminate, bamboo and other hard materials. Three halls – one more than last time – have been allocated to resilient floor coverings for commercial and industrial premises. A special highlight in 2015 will be the display of LVT designer flooring. Following a successful premiere in 2014 the special presentation “World of Handmade Carpets” will again be located in Hall W5.


In 2015 the marketing platform InnovAction Flooring will for the third time offer companies the opportunity to showcase new products developed specifically for the Asian market. In fact, DOMOTEX asia/CHINAFLOOR has developed into a popular marketing instrument for launching new products on the Asia-Pacific market.


The presentation of the second GreenStep Asia Awards will also be staged and this is the only event in the Asia-Pacific region where environment-friendly flooring solutions are presented with awards.
