Top Trends: Shades of Grey

Grey is having a huge impact at the moment, from the catwalk to the high street, in store and at home. Grey is everywhere and it’s not going anywhere any time soon! One of the huge benefits of using grey in the home is that it’s a neutral colour. As it’s available in an array of shades the colour can be incorporated into any home be it a country cottage or a city centre loft apartment. Grey looks sophisticated and elegant, is easy to accessorise and can fit in with any desired aesthetic.

Industrial revolution

For a modern fashion-forward design brief look towards industry, and its functional utilitarian aesthetic. Think concrete, asphalt, rubber or steel flooring panels with non-slip treads. Grey can be used on the walls, floor or both, with accessories in a range of bright colours to really pop. A bright rubber floor also looks great when combined with a muted grey backdrop.

Heritage Chic

To achieve a more formal and classic look combine walls painted in cool blue based greys, such as gunmetal, with rich wooden floors in oak, mahogany or walnut and accessorise with tartans and checks. If you want to incorporate wooden furniture then why not go for a stained black floor? Or keep the look crisp and classy with pastel grey walls and pale floors in beech, ash or marble, this style looks fabulous when combined with white painted furniture.
