RECYCLING & WASTE MANAGEMENT | ORWAK
The new range comprises of the TOM Compactor and the high performance Power balers which are stronger, faster and designed to make installation easier, particularly in environments with low ceilings.
The Orwak Power family of balers incorporates unique Black Star Technology – an innovative hydraulic system which is based on the reverse technique of pulling the press plate downwards to compact the material rather than the traditional method of pushing it.
This has enabled a more compact machine design with the cylinders placed at the bottom of the baler and means the cylinders are at the strongest point when the pressure peaks.
PHS Orwak Power balers are significantly faster and can handle high volumes of packaging material while also featuring auto start, extremely fast shutters and short cycle times.
These have all attained a performance level D safety rating making them the industry leader.
Additionally, PHS Orwak has introduced TOM - the latest in hi- tech Waste Compaction Systems for public spaces.
TOM is ideal for use in areas with high foot-fall, such as retail outlets, restaurants, cafés, airports and railway stations, arenas, theme parks and shopping centres.
Martin Hewitt, Commercial Manager at PHS Orwak said “The new products have been designed with the customer’s needs entirely in mind.
HIGH-TECH COMES TO WASTE
The range of compactors and balers introduced by PHS Orwak is helping to drastically reduce the amount of
cardboard and other compactable waste located at premises across the UK.

“TOM is a remarkable feature- rich waste compaction system that offers huge benefits for managers of busy facilities. Not only does it allow for up to seven times the waste to be deposited before the bag is full and needs to be changed, but the system can communicate when it has reached its capacity, so that you can proactively switch bags. This has huge implications for making site management more efficient. It means staff are not wasting time checking whether bins are full.”
Commenting on the Power baler range he said: “We have known for some time that the height of the baler can be restrictive so the internal mechanism has been redesigned lowering the height of the unit, which means they are easier to incorporate into commercial workspaces.
“Perhaps more importantly, greater emphasis has been placed on creating a baler with the highest health and safety standards built in. The Power balers all perform a full safety check each time they are used. We are delighted with the efficiency of this new range.”
PHS Orwak is offering a free two-week trial of all new products at locations across the UK.
