WHAT’S NEW? MITIE LAUNCH THERMAL


IMAGING DRONE Mitie has announced the launch of the first thermal imaging drone to be used in the facilities management (FM) industry.


The thermal imaging technology is the next stage of development for Mitie’s pest control drone service, announced earlier this year. The drone, named Inspire 1, will enable Mitie to deliver a wide range of services, from pest control to property and waste management. The thermal imaging applications for the Inspire 1 also include:


• Building damage inspections and maintenance, in areas that aren’t readily visible


• Wildlife management – thermal imaging for animal population control, like deer


MACRO HIRES NEW


HEAD OF HR Macro has appointed Niki Cole as Head of HR, to cover the maternity leave of Adelaide Forbes.


Niki, who will be based in Watford/London, UK, previously worked for CBRE GWS and Jones Lang LaSalle in EMEA within Facilities Management and Hard Services, where she managed the transition and transformation of new contracts, in-country reward/ policy/benefits and generalist in-country HR.


Niki is MCIPD qualified (post graduate) and has over 16 years' senior management experience with both UK and EMEA HR responsibility within global organisations. She has also been involved in a number of projects with the aim to deliver business growth through the development and improvement of people.


Commenting on her new role, Niki said: "I'm really happy to join the Macro team at a time of change and team development, where innovation is encouraged and celebrated."

building to identify potential savings via improved insulation


• Roofing surveillance to detect excess humidity and water cooling on flat roofs

Gareth Davies, Regional Director for Mitie pest control and drone operations said: “The thermal imaging technology enables us to develop the precision of our existing drone fleet. The Inspire 1 will enable us to offer customers and increasingly comprehensive, safe and flexible service and is a great example of Mitie’s technological innovation in the FM sector.”


With the ability to reach 400ft, previously inaccessible places are reachable from the ground and without the need for specialist equipment. The small unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS) are operated by licensed Civil Aviation Authority members, enhancing safety and reducing the cost of surveying at height.

INCENTIVE FM WINS CONTRACT WORTH


£730,000 Incentive FM has been awarded a


12 month rolling contract to provide total facilities management services for the Innovation Group, in a deal worth £730,000.


Under the terms of the contract,


Incentive FM will be providing cleaning, security, M&E, waste, utilities procurement and management services at the Group’s head office in Hampshire and eight other satellite buildings nationwide, through its structured management team.


Innovation Group, who provides


services to organisations in the insurance industry, is committed to delivering a fulfilling and safe work environment to its employees. Incentive FM will work to maintain
