Did you know that one in four office workers admit to not washing their hands after visiting the washroom? This means facilities can be even more vulnerable to harbouring and spreading infection than other busy indoor environments.

Contagious illnesses are often passed from person to person through indirect contact; for example through sharing personal belongings or by coming into contact with contaminated surfaces, such as door handles.


Indeed, an office keyboard can carry thousands of microorganisms per square centimetre, with a computer mouse faring no better. Objects that we touch with our hands, and that others touch after us, are all potential points for cross-infection.
