LORIEN SUPPORTS EXPANSION OF 3M
IN POLAND Global manufacturing and technology business 3M has completed the latest phase of expansion at its manufacturing plant in Wroclaw, Poland, with engineering and construction support from Lorien Engineering Solutions.
The latest phase involved the expansion of the single-storey production facility and two-storey office along with the construction of roads, parking facilities and other infrastructure. The facilities house production lines for the Automotive Division.

3M on the design of the site.
Construction work started in September 2015 and was completed in June 2016.
Łukasz Kolendowicz, Managing Director of Lorien Engineering Polska, said: “The key challenge was to execute construction works and interfaces with existing structures and utilities in a way that allowed the production activities to continue without interruptions.”
Lorien is also providing engineering support to 3M on a further phase of the expansion in Wroclaw, which will see the Personal Safety Division building extended by 7,500m2
to include
production, warehousing, social amenities and offices.
Construction work started in April 2016 and is expected to complete in January 2017.
Łukasz added: “We have developed good working relationship with 3M in Wroclaw since our first project in 2012. In this period, we have delivered numerous capital projects and engineering studies. We look forward to supporting 3M’s ongoing expansion in Poland.”
Lorien specialises in capital projects for food, brewing, drinks, life sciences, biotech and safety compliance, and sustainability. It is a division of GP Strategies Corporation, a global performance improvement solutions provider and engineering and technical services organisation headquartered in Maryland, USA.
3M has operated in Poland for 25 years. It has nine production plants, six of which are located in Wroclaw.
