The Perfect Combination
Scrubber dryers are a popular choice in many building care applications because their high performance and superior floor cleaning capabilities deliver a number of productivity, return-on- investment and sustainability benefits. Maximum sustainability and return on investment can only be realised when the machine is specified correctly and operated with the right pads and floorcare products. Diversey Care supports these objectives with its integrated range of cleaning machines, tools and equipment.
In many applications the first consideration will be the size of machine. Given a choice there is always a temptation to choose smaller, generally less expensive, models but these may struggle. The resulting overuse can lead to poor productivity, reliability issues and unforeseen downtime. Choosing a machine which is too large can also be counter-productive because it results in a costly asset being underused. Further complications arise when comparing machines from different manufacturers because similarly sized models can offer very different performances and running costs. The lesson that all-too-many operators have learned is that the performance rather than size of the machine must be matched to the application requirement.
A second consideration is the cost of owning and running a machine. Purchase or lease costs can be

With a number of options and variables to choose from, finding the most sustainable and effective Scrubber Dryer can be a difficult task. But Diversey Care tell us why they think their TASKI range is the perfect combination.
significant, particularly for the largest models, but labour costs will always be a factor. This means that the overall productivity, performance and reliability of the machine are vital because they support the most efficient deployment of resources. Employees will be able to cover larger areas in the same time or complete their duties more quickly and be free to work on other tasks.
The final considerations when specifying scrubber dryers are likely to be the pads or brushes and choice of cleaning products. While these generally represent a relatively small cost compared to machine and labour their significance to productivity, sustainability and the overall cost of cleaning should not be overlooked.
An increasingly popular choice among fleet operators is the range of TASKI Americo pads for every application and floor type. Designed to support sustainable operations these pads are made from 100% recycled materials, while the manufacturing processes are over 30% more energy efficient, reducing waste water by 83%, and the pads are shipped in cartons containing at least 45% recycled materials. Trials conducted at customer sites by Diversey Care showed that these pads are just as effective as the more expensive alternatives from leading independent suppliers.
Another option is the TASKI Twister pad. These pads contain billions of microscopic diamonds that clean and maintain the natural shine and
gloss of the floor through mechanical action. They can be used with cleaning products but are also suitable for use with water alone which eliminates chemicals for high sustainability with predictable and reduced costs. Pads with a range of diamond size are available for almost every type of floor, allowing operators to select the performance characteristics ideally suited to their specific application. Regular use can eliminate the need for costly and time- consuming periodic maintenance.
Although scrubber dryers can work with pads and water alone, most operators prefer to run their machines with an appropriate product. As with pads the choice of specification will depend on factors including the flooring materials, the level of soiling, the required finish and whether any disinfection is needed. Choosing the right product is key to overall machine performance because it ensures that tasks are completed quickly and achieve superior results. Making the wrong choice, on the other hand, can mean an expensive machine and operators spending more time going over the same area again, which
