non-absorbent subfloors and is designed for use in areas subject to light to heavy- duty traffic. It is also walk-on hard in 90 minutes and can be ready to receive floorcoverings in just six hours.
Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS was then used to adhere the luxury vinyl floorcoverings to the subfloor. Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS, F. Ball’s latest product innovation, is a temperature tolerant, pressure sensitive vinyl adhesive that combines instant initial grab with ultra-high bond strength to hold vinyl tiles and sheet in place across a huge range of temperatures.
It has been designed specifically for use in conditions subject to direct sunlight or extreme fluctuations in temperature, from as low as -20°C and up to +60°C, such as conservatories or heavily glazed areas, and is also suitable for use over normal underfloor heating systems.
A PLACE IN THE SUN
A range of products from F. Ball and Co. Ltd., including the new Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS temperature tolerant pressure sensitive vinyl adhesive, have been used to deliver a high quality, long-lasting floor finish in a residential property in Merseyside.
Contractors from Eclipse Flooring used Stopgap P131 general purpose primer, Stopgap 300 HD smoothing underlayment to create a sound, level subfloor and selected Styccobond F49 Hybrid PS adhesive to install luxury vinyl floorcoverings in the property.
Eclipse Flooring were contracted to refurbish the flooring in the conservatory, dining room and living room of the property, covering a total area of approximately 35m2
. The area was
heavily glazed, meaning that the flooring would be subjected to direct sunlight and fluctuations in temperature. Contractors
first removed the existing carpet and then applied Stopgap P131 primer over the concrete subfloor.
Stopgap P131 is a general purpose primer that has been designed to promote the adhesion of Stopgap smoothing underlayments and to prevent the unacceptably rapid drying of adhesives and smoothing underlayments. Coloured green to provide visual control of product coverage, Stopgap P131 has a drying time of less than 60 minutes and can be applied over a range of absorbent and non-absorbent subfloors.
Once the primer had dried, contractors applied Stopgap 300 HD smoothing underlayment onto the subfloor to create a smooth, durable surface. Stopgap 300 HD is a fast-drying self-levelling smoothing underlayment suitable for use over a range of sound absorbent and
