MILLIKEN TAKES GOLD AT NEOCON 2016


Milliken’s modular carpet collection ‘Lapidus’ won a Best of NeoCon Gold award in Chicago on 13th June 2016.


Alison Kitchingman, Milliken’s Marketing and Design Director, who attended the show on behalf of Milliken’s EMEIA business, commented: “This is an amazing achievement; to win gold at NeoCon is one of the highest accolades in the world of commercial interiors and we are immensely proud.”


The Best of NeoCon Jury is composed of 43 contract interiors designers and architects, and corporate, healthcare and institutional facilities management executives who are responsible for selecting and buying furniture and furnishings for their specific organisations or clients. Nine jury teams visited the MART showrooms and market suites to judge each product.


Creating the uncommon from the common, Lapidus reinterprets the intricate patterns and textures discovered in natural, unearthed surfaces in a luxurious construction. An innovative kit of organic design elements eliminates traditional design rules and invites both creativity and simplicity for contemporary flooring with extraordinary depth and flexibility.


Celebrating the power of Milliken’s unique patterning technology, Millitron, the industry’s highest resolution print technology, Lapidus provides the foundation for forward-thinking interiors. Depending on colour and tile placement, floor aesthetics move from organic painterly to bold and structured. Modest yarn lustre, coupled with tip shearing, add visual interest while layered tonal colours morph and stratify to emulate surfaces as they are found in nature.


Lapidus creates versatility with components that work in combination or stand alone as field flooring. 20 colour families and transition tiles connect layers of pattern for design fluidity, as tiles innately match when placed in any manner. Transition tiles artistically connect colours to define spaces or soften wall intersections.

APPOINTS NEW HEAD OF CREATIVE


Wilton Carpets Commercial has appointed Damian Roscoe to the newly-established Head of Creative role, marking its ambition to ensure design is at the heart of its strategy.


The highly experienced Damian has spent over 25 years in the carpet industry, shaping the design direction for prestigious carpet brands. Now at Wilton Carpets, creating bespoke and stock woven and tufted carpets for commercial interiors, Damian is excited about the challenge ahead.


Damian said: “Wilton is one of the greats, but what truly excited me was

Damian will be based at Wilton’s Wiltshire headquarters, dividing time between the studio and liaising closely with sales managers and clients on projects, further developing the brand as a powerhouse of hospitality carpet.
