In other news... Children in Need
During the week commencing 9 November 2015 Volvo’s Duxford and Immingham Customer Support Centres held a series of events to raise money for Children In Need. Activities included a cake sale, pool tournament, school sports day, dress down days and a quiz. In total Volvo raised £1540.42 and had great fun along the way.
Collection for the homeless
In the run up to Christmas Volvo staff at Duxford donated food and toiletries to Jimmy’s Cambridge, a charity who provide accommodation for the homeless and vulnerably housed people in Cambridge. All donations were then boxed up in the warehouse and sent out to arrive on Christmas Eve hopefully making Christmas a better time for those in need.
Kane
Following on from the post about Titsey Estate Company and their new Volvo A35G we were sent some photos by Lee, who says, “I love the new post about Titsey Estate’s new A35G dumper. I was lucky enough to work for Moorhouse for many years and I have original pictures of the A25C. When they first got this Terry invited me over with my disabled son when you had not long delivered the dumper.
My son suffers from epilepsy autism global development delay and Terry at Moorhouse was amazing with him and so was Tim who drives the new dumper.” We are happy to show the pictures of Lee and his wife Clare with their son Kane. Kane is 3 and half years old and, as you can see from the pictures is a huge Volvo fan!
It is also lovely to see the original Volvo A25C still working hard for a living!
Toy collection
The Volvo Customer Support Centre in Warrington set up an appeal for toys in the run up to Christmas after hearing about a campaign on local radio station Wire FM. The team at Warrington all wore Christmas jumpers and brought in a toy/gift for the privilege of doing so.
