Describe your role now and career so far I am a senior vice president is in the property solutions group at Guy Carpenter, dealing with global clients and with a particular focus on the MENA region. I joined Guy Carpenter on the analyst development programme with extensive training in various aspects of the reinsurance business. Dealing with a wide range of classes of business and account types, including both proportional and excess of loss, I helped the team to win numerous programmes with MENA clients and I have been heavily involved with the placement of a wide array of these programmes. I have a first class honours degree in business and French, and has achieved status as Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and the US-based ARe qualification.
Why did you choose the re/insurance industry? I knew I wanted to go into the city but I was without clear picture of exactly where I wanted to focus and did not have much prior knowledge of the industry. I was approached by a recruitment company with an opening at Guy Carpenter and after a lot of research decided I would give the opportunity a chance. Once
I got started in this company and saw all the possibilities, I have never looked back.
