ENANT Alex Thomson is hoping to shine after receiving a cash boost

from Glasgow Gold. Alex, from Knightswood, set up Thomson Window Cleaning earlier this year with the help of a business start-up grant. Now his business is looking brighter thanks to the much- needed support from our tenant reward scheme. Alex, 49, said: “My father was a window cleaner and I had my own run before I got hurt and had to stop for a while. “I was able to use the grant

from Glasgow Gold for livery on my van and a set of ladders. It was really useful because there’s not a lot of support out there.

“It’s working out fantastic and the business is picking up nicely.” Alex also revealed that his business is growing because of the service he delivers - and because customers spread the

word to other people. He added: “I’ve built up a lot

of contacts but I get most of my work through word of mouth. “You need to know what

you’re doing and you need to offer a good service. That’s how you build a business. “A positive attitude helps too!” GHA Chair Gordon Sloan said: “Glasgow Gold is all about increasing opportunities for our tenants. I wish Alex every success in the future.”
