HA is giving school leavers a chance to take their first steps in a career in housing.

We’re recruiting young people now for our Modern Apprenticeship Programme. Youngsters will get paid work experience, a nationally-recognised qualification, access to some fantastic benefits - and help to find a job when the apprenticeship finishes. The apprenticeships, which are in Business, Housing and IT, will last two years. The successful young people will work

across Wheatley Group, GHA’s parent organisation. They will receive on and off the job training and gain an SVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification.

Earn as you learn Apprenticeships can be first step in career

Many of the young people who start our modern apprenticeship scheme have gone on to secure jobs across GHA. Chris Bilsland, 21, from Cambuslang,

“I never imagined I could do so well”

started out with the community janitors before starting an apprenticeship. He also worked at GHA’s local office in

Pollokshaws and has now landed a job as a customer service advisor.

Chris said: “I never imagined I could do so well. I’m so thankful for my apprenticeship and the knowledge it has given me.” GHA’s Hazel Young added: “Youngsters on our apprenticeship programme earn while they learn and it helps them reach their full potential.” You don’t need any qualifications to apply. If you’re aged between 16 and 19, recently left school or plan to leave this summer, email ma@wheatley-group.com

Get prepared now for new online services

WE want to give you more choice in how you access our services. At the moment, you can pay your rent

or report a repair by phone, in your local office and in the GHA shop. Now we want to make it easier

for you to do all this online. From September, you’ll be able to do much more on the internet than ever before, including: • see your account, your balance and all your recent payments and charges

• make payments or book a repair appointment

• request and keep tabs on a range of other services including welfare advice • keep track of appointments you’ve made with your local office. To make sure you’re ready for September, we need your email address so you can

register for the new services. Please supply it to your housing officer, local office or by phone to a customer

service advisor. GHA’s Evelyn McDowall said: “Our new online services will make it more convenient to make payments, book a repair or make an appointment. But we need your email address so you can register when we launch.” Remember, you can still talk to us on

the phone, at one of our offices or at our shop on Trongate. GHA won’t sell or share your

information with external organisations. For more on how we use your information, visit our website.
