YOUR LETTER

Dear the Key I’d like to thank Michelle from GHA’s Ruchazie office for getting in touch with Alex from the Greater Easterhouse Supporting Hands to take on the big task of decorating my new house. I greatly appreciate it. Catherine Boote, Mossvale Square Thanks Catherine. We’ve passed on your kind words.

Dear the Key This is my second email to you to ask for an explanation for the railings in Germiston being painted at the bottom end of the scheme (tenements) and the top end (block houses) once again being left out. All the years I have resided here I have never known our railings being painted. Wallace Heaney, Forge Street Thanks for your letter Wallace. Unfortunately, there is no maintenance planned for the four-in-a-block properties at the moment. There are a lot of owners there and they may not buy into any investment work. But we’ll talk to our colleagues at YouPlace to see if we can help.

Dear the Key I’d like to ask if the trees in my back garden could be cut back. One is blocking the sunlight to the drying area and the one at the back is also huge. If you could check this out for me I would be extremely grateful. Liz Russell, Arisaig Drive Our arborists have been out to trim back the trees, Liz. Hope this helps.

Dear the Key Can you tell me when the street between Ruchazie Road and Arniston Street is going to be resurfaced? It is in a shocking state with potholes. There are many elderly people

here and an accident is going to happen soon. M Fulton, Whitburn St This is the responsibility of the roads department. We contacted them on your behalf but they couldn’t say when the road would be resurfaced. It might be an idea to contact your local councillor. Thanks.

Dear the Key I moved to Knightswood last year and discovered a little nature walk at Crow Road next to Victoria Park. I saw this little bird which is called a Treecreeper. I saw other birds such as Goldcrest, Greenfinch and the usual garden birds. I also heard a Willow Warbler which is a migrant bird from Africa. Hope you like the picture. Margaret McMaster, Kirkton Avenue

Thanks very much for your letter Margaret. Hope you keep enjoying your walks.

Dear the Key Can you do something about the common pathway between my neighbour and myself? There are lots of loose stones and this is a great hazard as my neighbour and I are elderly. Also, my grass hasn’t been cut this year. Mrs MacFarlane, Fleurs Avenue Thanks for your letter Mrs MacFarlane. We’ve spoken to
