“voice car- rying us across the landscape

As for more moving, marvelous folk music, my favorite remains great old New Yorker Pete Seeger, born May 3, 1919. He was from a family of wonderful musicians, including his mother, Constance de Clyver Edson Seeger, who taught violin at the presti- gious Juilliard School of Music in NYC.

Te distinctive actress Katharine Hepburn had a May 12, 1907 celebration. And a grand comedian, Tina Fey surely has a party on May 18th! As for memorable, unforgettable performers, we should have had a big shout out for Roy Kelton Orbison on April 23, (1936). Known as “the Ca- ruso of Rock” his unique voice influenced a large number of greatly ad- mired performers—Bob Dylan, Bruce Springs- teen included.
In his
quiet, very musical vocal delivery, he as- tounded everybody
