THE BUZZ
Mindful Live Launch May 1st
o you often feel stressed or stretched so thin you can't imagine one more thing being added to your plate? Do you run from one thing to another, eating on the go and arriving at your next destination thinking "I don't even remember driving here"? Do you hear yourself talking about how stressed you are or do you feel anxious a lot?
D Mindfulness and meditation can help you accept and enjoy
every moment of your life in order to acknowledge and appreciate all that is working well for you. It can help turn negative scenarios into positive ones.
Today, much as we enjoy our technological and practical ad-
vantages, we live in a constant swirl of activity with much of that activity highly pressured. We rush from texting on our mobiles to checking our emails. We pass the time in lines and elevators by consulting social media sites. We communicate and travel at the speed of light…constantly trying to keep up.
Mindfulness is a common English word that simply means
"paying attention." John Kabat-Zinn's condensed defi nition is "paying attention in a particular way; On purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally".
You may be asking yourself, when is mindfulness experi- enced? It is experienced in the the present moment. Where are most of us, most of the time? Not in the present moment.
Where are we instead? Usually, we are on autopilot going through the motions of whatever we are doing such as eating, driving, even talking. At the same time, we are lost in thoughts. The mind is busy with either rehashing the past or anticipating the future. In this way, we are missing our life as it unfolds moment by moment.
Some people manage to balance the demands of modern life with a degree of relaxation and appreciation. To do so, however, most of them will have discovered a revitalizing self-awareness tool such as meditation to enable this to happen. As the early stages of meditation involve appreciation and awareness of what is around us, it is important to learn simple techniques to enable you to do this.
So, how do we fi t in the practice of meditation while manag- ing all the commitments we have in our lives? Presence of Mind Mindfulness and Life Coach Studio has the answer through Mind- ful Live. This new program set to launch on May 1st, will provide you the opportunity to be part of a live stream meditation from the comfort of your own home, the beach, your work…essentially, anywhere you have internet or cell phone access.
When you enter a Mindful Live session, a certifi ed medita- tion instructor will be there to spend a few moments talking about mindfulness and meditation and then will guide you through a 30-minute meditation using visualization, imagery and breath fo- cus. At the close of the meditation, the instructor will be available for brief questions or discussion. You will also have access to a private Facebook group to post questions, insights and helpful tips and articles.
Why continue to feel stressed, overwhelmed, and burnt out when you can experience the benefi ts of mindfulness and meditation where you are comfortable?
