As it continues to bolster its tourism offer- ing, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) is pushing ahead with plans to increase Chinese visitor numbers to the emirate. Representatives from the Ministry of Econ-
omy, the ATDD and tourism authorities from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah visited Beijing and Shanghai in March. During the promotional trip, held under the
banner ‘Visit UAE’, the ATDD met with major international tour operators to highlight Ajman’s attractions as a holiday destination and explore best practices in tourism marketing. Faisal Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Director General
of the ATDD, said: “This was a significant inter- national platform to promote the UAE’s tourist attractions. We have been keen to intensify
communication and hold meetings with tourism industry officials to consolidate ties between us and increase the influx of tourists into the country. Many tourism industry officials and professionals participated; it gave us the opportunity to exchange experiences, develop aspects of economic investment and introduce new ideas for tourism service development. The visit was a solid bridge to move into an enhanced bilateral relationship with China and improve investment in the tourism sector with them.” Ajman’s tourism industry has been boosted
by rising visitor numbers and hotel openings. The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah recently launched, making it the emirate’s fifth five-star hotel. ———

experience by the summer of 2017. The new facility will see a paradigm shift in the quality of services we will deliver. Our main aim is to significantly enhance visitor ease, accessibil- ity and safety, especially for our young guests who we consider our most valued customers.” Al Montazah’s development plan is in line
with Shurooq’s vision to reinforce tourist foot- fall in the emirate with world-class destinations, high-end services and outstanding events. The authority unveiled the first phase of the desti- nation’s development and expansion in 2012, which turned it into an integrated amusement city, and the emirate’s first water-themed park. ——— Visit stand ME4150
