The AQHA Incentive fundrecently posted 2016 figures
and stated that checks had been mailed. More than 1.35-mil- lion was paid to owners and nominators of the 6,857 horses that earned Incentive Fund points last years. The point value was 22.01 for owners and nominators, a significant increase from 2015-point values, which were $15.64 for owners and $11.29 for nominators.
NM Buckskin Horse Assoc hosted its last Shaggy Show
for this year on March 12, at Bosque Farms Arena. It was a great sunny day, and the event was blessed with an awesome show crew and many horses and exhibitors. HP champions were NMSU Love Me Tender (Open/Yvonne Saavedra), Zip- pen Chocolate (19&O/Brenda Schlote), Tahoe Lil Hickory (18&U/Selena Fresquez), Jonah (Nov-Horse/Terri Rakosky), and Cash Is Good (WT/Marilyn Novat).
AQHA announced 2 new hires for its show department.
Justin Billings will begin as AQHA Manager of Shows on April 11, and Karen McCuistion as AQHA Manager of Pro- fessional Horsemen and Team Wrangler on April 24.
South Texas Pinto HC has added new all-breed classes
to its shows, including a ranch riding jackpot and 3 jumping di- visions, 18-inches, 2-foot, and 2-foot, 3-inches. All shows are held at Seguin’s Guadalupe Fairgrounds, and show dates are April 29, May 20, September 30, and October 21. fmi,
