Texas A&M University announced mid-

February that the next phase of construction at the Thomas G. Hildebrand DVM ’56 Equine Complex will soon begin. Additions expected include nutrition research labs, a large covered feeding barn, wash bays, veterinary examina- tion area, hay and grain storage area, nutrition turnouts, pastures, and fending. A November 2018 completion date is planned.

The 2017 Dixie National QHS, held Feb-

ruary 14-19 in Jackson, MS, was a big show as always. Chris Littlefield, Henrietta, TX and Bold And Beautiful “BD” took the high-point cow horse title, a memorial in honor of Andrew McBeath. Kim Neas, of Cross Roads, TX, rode Rumors Are Hot to earn the select amateur all- around prizes. Macy Blackwell, Loranger, LA, was 13&u all-around champion with Its All Too Good.

Brett Joseph, a 30-ish conman from Aus-

tralia, was rumored to have been at stock shows in Texas earlier this year. Claiming to be in pos- session of a family fortune, he conned several people and groups in Australia, using their homes and generosity while offering very gen- erous donations to good causes. In Australia, the Romeo targeted and jilted almost 2 dozen semi-wealthy country girls. He has favored the agricultural lifestyle and has changed names and stories with ease. Beware of seemingly im- pressive

gram’s per-point value increased in 2016, for the second year in a row, according to a Febru- ary 20 announcement.
