INNOVATIONS

EXPLOITING TECHNOLOGY Developed through research

downtime during maintenance, whilst reducing future callouts and subsequent losses from failed repairs.

TAKING ONSHORE INNOVATIONS OFFSHORE

Rotos 360 has been an innovative and exciting company since their conception in 2013. The company was created to exploit technology developed through a research project funded by the Technology Strategy Board Following on from this they have since designed and implemented a number of innovations focusing on the reduction of O&M costs for turbines.

UV REPAIR PROCESS

Rotos 360’s Renuvo UV blade repair method is now well proven after playing a part in 100’s of repairs. In 2014 the company obtained DNV-GL certification for this repair process which incorporates a robust quality control process. The process is optimised to reduce turbine

Rotos 360 first used their UV blade repair method on shore using Renuvo Prepregs and MPS paste. Later it was utilised offshore from their Kaeufer K-BP-0 blade repair platforms where it’s fast curing time, usability in temperatures down to 5C and humidities up to 90% has helped increase productivity.

LATEST DEVELOPMENT

The company’s latest repair innovation is a small light battery powered UV lamp that can be carried while conducting repairs by rope access. Enabling UV repairs to be carried out from ropes as well as blade access platforms. Coupled with high-intensity lighting, this solution enables teams to safely work at any time of day or night, offering operators significant O&M savings through the reduction of downtime.

SUPPLIERS OF

Rotos 360’s effective solutions for specialist repair and reconditioning of rotor blades can be deployed both on and offshore. The company has a range of innovations designed to make the best use of their time on the turbine. By speeding up curing time and making repairs more efficient, O&M savings quickly add up across multiple assets. Crucially, these solutions can be deployed across a wide range of often adverse climatic conditions.

CONTINUOUS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS

The company’s latest technologies are the Blade Bubble small blade repair habitat and Leading Edge Armour, both of which are patent pending. The company embraces research and development solutions designed to reduce O&M costs. The future is bright for wind energy and Rotos is establishing itself as a pivotal name in Operation and Maintenance.
