any reputable auto repair centre do the job for you. If you do so, you will avoid a costly axle and hub replacement bill such as mine. To be safe, it is recommended that you replace your


bearings, races and seals every 15,000 kilometers. I now have 3 spare hubs that I plan to swap out with my current running set every two years, or every 6,000 kilometers. As Benjamin Franklin once said: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And I don’t plan to be sidelined ever again!


They really work! Last July, I was staying at a cabin on our hunting camp property just outside Calabogie and on the second day of our


stay we ran out of wood for the camp fire. So, it was time to venture into the woods to cut some more. While travelling into the bush, I suddenly remembered how bad the deer and horse flies can be at that time of year. As I recall, I spent more time swatting flies than cutting wood, and when I returned to the cabin my arms and the crown of my head were swollen with deerfly bits. I don’t know about any of you, but every year when I am first bitten by a deerfly I swell in the location of the attack. I guess I must be slightly allergic to them. There are a couple of ways you can protect yourself from these pests. One remedy is to wear jeans, a long-sleeved shirt and hat to cover your head. But the nastiest and most persistent of these flies seem to be
