According to TripAdvisor…

The Playa “Great Lunch!” “We were delighted to find The Playa still serving (and pleased to see us) just before the kitchen closed. We were made extremely welcome, offered table service in the bar, including our drinks order, and were served excellent food at very reasonable prices. We were seated in a smart and comfortable environment, with a sea view, plus the tables were well spaced and not cramped together. We could not fault the quality of the food, nor the service, at any point. We were checked upon for our needs, but otherwise left to enjoy our meals with no pressure, despite the kitchen having closed. We will definitely return!

La Villetta

“What a great find in the middle of Maidstone!” La Villetta has recently opened and I was taken there for lunch. Service (owner's wife Isabelle) was warm and friendly without being fussy. The menu is authentic Italian - quite simple, but at the same time you can tell that Chef Angelo has a passion for good food. Linguine di Mare was excellent!

February 2017

This is an independent family-run taste of the Mediterranean in the heart of Maidstone. I really hope it gets the support it deserves.

February 2017 Mid Kent Living 35 La Villetta

La Villetta is an Italian cottage where diners can try authentic dishes, most of the time executed by la nonna (grandma). It’s in his Nonna’s kitchen that Angelo, the head chef, grew his passion for cooking.

The Puglia region hosts the most beautiful beaches and

seafronts of the country. Here you eat raw seafood directly from the boat. And diners soon realise that this is where Angelo developed a particular passion for fish and seafood.

In a little cottage in Maidstone, the traditional Italian cuisine is offered where everything is cooked from scratch without frills or pretention - but with all the Italian passion and flavours that you would find in an Angelo’s homeland kitchen.

La Villetta specialises in an a la carte menu but like all good Italian restaurants, a ‘fast lunch’ service is available for those in a rush. There is also a very popular ‘share menu’ and a children’s menu. All wines are imported from France and Italy.

Food is served on Tuesday-Saturday 12pm-3pm and 6pm- 10pm, and Sunday 11am-4pm

A room for all types of functions is available for business,

social, committees or club meetings where a two course or three course meal ca be pre-ordered.

The room can accommodate from four to 14 people. The

room is free of charge with free wi-fi available from 8.30am until 5pm.
