The Beacon Association
The Beacon Association has two big events coming up in April and we need your support.
29th April is VEN FEST day This year at the Dorset Venison & Food Festival, we have 70 stalls selling delicious Dorset foods and drinks and, of course, there will be venison and game stalls too. We haven’t forgotten ‘the veggies’; you will also fi nd something tasty to eat on the day. For fun and entertainment we have local singers and groups, Morris and Maypole dancing, a tug-of-war, children’s activities and much more. There will also be a falconry display and an area set aside so you can learn about foraging – with stalls who major on the skills required to fi nd ingredients directly from nature, so you can cook delicious dishes or make useful things for the home and family. So, for a fun-fi lled family day out join us on Saturday 29th April at Post Green Farm, Lytchett Minster.
30th April is the Family Fun Run
Upton House has kindly agreed to host the Family Fun Run again this year on Sunday 30th April at 10am for registration. See our web and Facebook pages for full details. The Family Fun Run has been running for fi ve years and hopefully will be
one of our major fundraising events for the Carnival. Each year the Carnival gets bigger and to continue its success we need to raise more funds.
Whether you are a serious runner or a fun runner, why not come and support the Carnival and help us raise funds, and at the same time have lots of family fun, a fancy dress competition and – weather
permitting – enjoy a picnic in the surroundings of the gardens, exploring the new trailways and areas for the children to play in along with the new picnic areas. It is a great family fun day with friends and family supporting the runners as they come in.
