Lytchett Minster School


Students at Lytchett Minster School were recently introduced to ‘The World of Work’ in a series of sessions that have seen them creating their CVs and honing their interview skills.


It is vital that our young people are confi dent and well prepared for that all-important job interview in what is an increasingly competitive market. A number of representatives from local businesses came into school for our mock interview event, putting the students through their paces and offering their advice and guidance. A few years back, the national funding for work experience was withdrawn leading to many local schools stopping their work experience provision. However, here at Lytchett, we have continued to collaborate with local businesses and are grateful for their support in accommodating our Year 10 and Year 12 students in industry for a week-long taster


session. We hope that this experience will stand them in good stead for the future.


Professor David Read from Southampton University will be enthusing our future scientists with his lecture on ‘Sustainability and alternative energy’ on Tuesday 28th March at 6pm. Our lectures are open to students, parents and the wider community. Tickets are free of charge and available by emailing parkers@lytchett.org.uk
