SMITHBROO ILNS

For those who haven’t discovered the delights of Smithbrook Kilns in Cranleigh – you’re in for a treat…

K

S

mithbrook Kilns is a vibrant, business development on the site of the old Brickworks that used to be a thriving industry of England's largest village, Cranleigh. Just a couple of miles from Bramley and seven miles from Guildford on the A281. Bramley actually appears in the Domesday Book as Brolege and Bronlei, part of land owned by the Bishop of Bayeaux, William the Conquerors’ half-brother, so the area has a rich and venerable history. There are eight main buildings which were once part of a derelict brick making factory as early as 1876, thereby the name “kilns’, which were rebuilt in the 1980’s aimed at providing small and medium sized office space for start-ups and craft workshops.

SMITHBROOK KILNS IS ALL ABOUT COMMUNITY

Home to over 50 independent businesses thriving there, and now there are also residential apartments being added to this friendly and inspiring place. The success of Smithbrook Kilns is very much down to the quality and diversity of the premises and the businesses that it has gathered in one place. They are set in the beautiful natural surroundings of the Surrey country side and the atmosphere is very much a community rather than a business park, with such a great range of brands, services and products that it has become a successful destination for both shoppers and tourists alike.

A RELAXING RETAIL EXPERIENCE!

A great place to shop and visit. Lovely little independent shops, artisan studios and workshops to the bigger exclusive retail showrooms that you can pop into and peruse to your hearts content. Resident retailers include award winning Simon Pure and Jon Dibben Jewellery, Aspect Interiors, Smithbrook Stoves, Beyond Bikes, Baker Gray, The Edge of The Florist, Wedding Frox, Dotty Rose, and First Impressions Tiaras. There is ample free car parking and a great ambience with the celebrated “Bricks” café in the central courtyard making an ideal meeting place and a lovely focal point of the picturesque site serving food and drinks all day.
