The Gucci show emphasised fun with a light hearted romp through time and styles in Britain. A nod to England’s maritime past here, a wave at the punk era with tartan aplenty there, jumping from school outfits to boating with cricket caps and college sweaters. A bit of flag waving and leaping on the nationalist bandwagon pining for England’s past, Alessandro Michele presented a show aimed at those that like a bit of fancy dress. Look no further if you are planning on attending the next Goodwood Revival.


Miu Miu


This was swinging 60’s London meets Monaco, dare to bare and go for the summer look, halter tops and sharp cut jackets with big lapels. The pool look with bathing caps ablaze with colour and flowers. This is what you wear as you step from your yacht to the quay, heading for the Riviera bar for your Aperol Spritz. Big bikinis and superb colour palettes, fiendishly mixed to show off a superior eye for luxury style. Kudos to Prada for making bathrobes super chic. Every outfit caught the eye, if you can pull off a bathing cap and a deck chair striped suit then definitely add at least one of these nifty numbers to the wardrobe.


Vivienne Westwood


Vivienne’s husband Andreas Kronthaler drew inspiration from the Mediterranean for this unisex show, bright orange, reds, pinks and blues, in the usual eclectic but still unpredictable style, a mix of precise cuts and loose raw materials. Some great inspiration here and always creative if not totally practical.
