2.5 MINUTE RIDEAND WELL Diversionary Theatre is offering a unique “Late night double feature”
fromThursday, February 9 through Sunday, March 19…Though it has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of horror, or anyone by the name of “Rocky.” These two compelling stories were penned by American actress and playwright, Lisa Kron, best known for writing lyrics and book for the Tony Award-winning musicalFun Home, which consequently is playing this month on the Ahmanson Theatre stage in L.A.2.5 Minute Ride illustrates the roller coaster story of Kron’s family, focusing on her relationship with herHolocaust survivorfather. Through three, disparate stories: A trip to Auschwitz, a Brooklyn wedding and an annual outing to an Ohio amuse- ment park, it weaves a tale about a compelling man and the ties that bind a family.Well is the story of Kron’s mother, Ann, a champion of social justice, who works tirelessly to integrate her Midwestern town, despite her inability to cure her own chronic illness. Both hilarious and poignant, Kron tries to define the
narrative...And her relationship with her mother. Both plays take place in rotating repertory at Diversionary Theatre, 4545 Park Boulevard.
