ROCK POOL Cate Le Bon When Cate Le Bon releasedCrab Day in the summer of last year, she realized she had a few more songs that deserved musical attention. The result is the four-song LP titledRock Pool just released on January 27. Her artistic expression is unique as you can observe from the video for the title track “Rock Pool.” A combination psychedelic excursion of black and white and color. Her sound brings to mind a feminine David Byrne from the early days of The Talking Heads. Available now
LIFE WILL SEE YOU NOW Jens Lekman Smooth and diverse musical grooves prevail with thought-provoking lyrics of many colors from Jens Lekman on his new CD. The tone is primarily upbeat with a world beat of sounds, which cascade in and out. There are a few somber songs added into his creation of ten songs. His musical inclinations mask even the sadder songs in a subtle, positive energy of instrumen- tation. Jens Lekman even adds a classic arrangement of the disco strut of strings and horns to “How We Met, The Long Version.”Available February 17

Nikki’s latest single, “Jackpot” has an energy of exuberance just like hitting “lucky” sevens. She carries this tradition on in spades. Available February 17
