Silversea invests $170m on revamp of whole fleet

Silversea is to spend $170million on the biggest fleet-wide refurbishment plan in the Italian line’s history.
The revamp comes as the brand
prepares to launch its ninth ship, Silver Muse, next summer. Work to the 382-passenger
Silver Whisper will take place by the end of this year ahead of its 2017 world cruise. The suites will be refitted,
with chaise longues added to the outdoor space. Dining venues The Restaurant and La Terrazza will also be transformed. The ship’s communications hub
is set for a major overhaul with the addition of two satellite antennae. These are promised to “vastly improve” internet speeds on board, enabling passengers to take advantage of new interactive TVs
and on-demand films in every suite. Silver Wind will enter drydock for refurbishment in October
alongside expedition vessel Silver Discoverer. The latter’s main restaurant will be made more

shorter, taster cruises will attract first-time cruisers to experience its product.

Country and comedy on board Carnival next year
Country music star Tim McGraw and comedian Jay Leno are among the performers set to join Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Live line-up for next year. Tickets cost between $30 and $80, with VIP experiences available for between $100 and $300. McGraw will perform on March 2-3, and Leno on May 3-4, 2017.
