The Travel Brit Awards are now just over two weeks away. We caught up with some previous winners


T


he winner of the UK ambassador award at last year’s Travel Brit Awards has


explained how his domestic sales have grown year-on-year since he started selling UK product five years ago. Bill Lowe, head of travel at Love2shop


Holidays, picked up the award from Travel Weekly’s Lucy Huxley after demonstrating the agency’s commitment to domestic sales and marketing alongside the suppliers that host the awards.


Speaking in the build-up to this year’s event on July 10, he explained: “About five years ago, we started to recognise that domestic product was a great way of expanding your business, and we’ve never looked back. “I’ve attended the Travel Brits since it


started, and have now started taking other people [in the team]. They always come out of it with loads of useful product information and advice on how to sell it.” He added: “We’ve seen real growth in


cottages and lodges with hot tubs, but we sell everything from parks and lodges to apartments, theatre breaks and spa weekends. “To be named the UK


ambassador at last year’s Brits was a real surprise, but it was great to get that recognition and a real boost for the team. “We’ve seen year-


on-year growth through all our key domestic suppliers, including those at the Brits, so long may it continue.”
