Saint Lucia is stunningly beautiful. It’s the place to go for love, romance and cherished memories. It’s my top choice when I sell weddings, honeymoons or a celebration of an anniversary.
Q. Which hotels are ideal for romance?
As a Saint Lucia specialist, I have spent quality time at the resorts. I highly recommend Ladera Resort. It’s the ultimate rainforest open-air hideaway offering spectacular views and your own private pool. However, all of Saint Lucia’s resorts are amazing and can offer intimate and romantic settings.
Q. What activities do you suggest for couples? Helicopter transfers, giving your clients breathtaking views of the Pitons, customised couples spa treatments with champagne and romantic meals at restaurants such as Dasheen, The Cliff at The Cap and Boucan for delicious food in a beautiful setting.
Top 5 selling tips for Saint Lucia
1. Staying in both the South and North is best, Sugar Beach and Rendezvous is a nice mix.
2. Leave the resort and see the island, there really is so much to do.
3. Book tours to Soufrière and stand under a waterfall, it’s refreshing and so much fun.
4. Book the Segway excursion for couples fun and adventure
5. Book a romantic sunset cruise and see the stunning coastline.

GDS Genie to help train agents on three systems
Samantha Mayling
Travel Gossip co-founder Bruce Martin has launched an online tool dedicated to training agents to use global distribution systems (GDSs)
GDS Genie aims to help agents learn about three main GDSs – Galileo, Amadeus and Sabre. The venture has two long-term distribution partners: social media strategy firm Ginger Juice – also founded by Martin – and the Online Travel Academy. Online Travel Academy and
Ginger Juice have a “huge relevant global database”, said Martin, who has more than 25 years of experience in travel, with 10-plus years in the training sector. He said: “A career in travel is much sought after and many jobs advertised ask for GDS experience, but it’s not easy to get official training from GDS companies unless you already work in travel; it’s a catch-22 situation. “GDS Genie enables people to learn how to use GDS via a high- quality ‘emulated’ platform.
