Edgebrook: Moving Through Grief, Trauma and Loss Residential Workshop MARCH 30-APRIL 2
Laura Manuel, M.A. Ed.S., BCBA Board Certifi ed Behavior Analyst / Behavior Coach Weight Management Specialist
T
he staff at Edgebrook is pleased to offer this workshop based on the original work of Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. We have been offering these
workshops for 19 years and are located in the peaceful surroundings of the Notre Dame Spiritual Center in Alfred, Maine. We come together to share and express the deep range of feelings resulting from experiences of grief, trauma and loss.
Losing a loved one, a relationship, a dream or even a pet can
bring on overwhelming emotions which are often unexpressed and kept within. Experiences of all forms of abuse and neglect result in pain, confusion and often a deep sense of shame. This workshop provides the rare opportunity to work through the unfi nished business and unexpressed emotions of these experiences.
Within a safe and confi dential environment, participants in
this workshop can access and work on the issues particular to each individual. This is a natural, organic process and the staff works to “facilitate“ (make easier) each persons’ process. Above all, this is a loving, caring workshop.
The workshop staff of fi ve will be led by Paul K. Matteson MS.Ed,
L.C.P.C.. who maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Portland and facilitates groups for male survivors of sexual abuse/incest spon- sored by the Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine.
If this notice speaks to you, we encourage you to contact us. We will spend as much time as necessary explaining the workshop and answering any questions you may have. We love this work and we love sharing it. All of us came to this work by participating in similar workshops ourselves.
Tune in to the Successful Balanced Living show on WMPG 90.9 FM (
www.successfulbalancedliving.com) on Wednesday, February 22 at 1:00pm to listen to Paul Matteson discuss this workshop in further de- tail. Edgebrook is a non-profi t organization and does offer a limited scholarship program to assist attendees.
