The poultry farm appears to be considering redevelopment as it has recently obtained a scoping pre-application environmental opinion from Waveney District Council. No planning application has been made so the Parish Council have not been

consulted so far, but will keep a watching brief. Bi-monthly meetings in 2017. Starting in January 2017 the Parish Council will meet in the Village Hall at 7.30pm on the 2nd Monday of every other month. Last 2016 meeting: December

A BIG THANK YOU

I WOuLD like to say a big thank you to everyone who was has kindly knitted or contributed in any way to help raise another £901 over the last year in memory of my husband Len. All the proceeds have

been donated this year again to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge to help fund research and clinical trials for the treatment into a very rare form

of cancer, Leiomyosarcoma which Len bravely fought. I would like to say a big thank

you to Elsa, Sue and staff with special thanks to Rob and Alex Loader who kindly allowed me to sell the knitwear in their tearoom, Squires of Southwold. Your help and support over the last year is really appreciated.

RESuLTS of the Balloon Race held on the Open Day, August 28th 2016. Results: We released 234 balloons on the day. Only one ticket was returned. That balloon was found at Lysekil in Sweden by Turc Strom, a distance of 562 miles from Holton Airfield. (The wind on that day was blowing toward the north east, which is unusual. This means that most of the flight would have been be over sea, so many balloons probably ended up in water). Halesworth Airfield Museum

end of season Grand Draw - this year we decided to sell draw tickets during our open season instead of just on the Open Day. Our final season’s opening afternoon was on Sunday 30th

October. At about 4.30pm we asked some of our visitors to take part in drawing the winning tickets. 1st prize of £100 (kindly donated by Marshalls Land Rover of Halesworth) was won by Katherine Zwicker of Purcellville, Virgia, uSA (granddaughter of Mr & Mrs H Took of Halesworth). 2nd prize of a voucher for a round of golf for four (kindly donated by Halesworth Golf Club) was won by Harry Poll of Rigbourne Hill, Beccles, Suffolk. 3rd prize of tea and scones for two (kindly donated by Hideout Restaurant, Bridge St, Halesworth) was won by Mrs C Hall of Holton. 4th prize of £10 was won by Mrs Dolly Pymar of Halesworth.
