career by becoming a volunteer assistant on Fridays. She found a new love in singing, first with the u3A Melody Makers then with the Halesworth Community Choir and the Pakefield Singers. She joined her husband in voluntary work for the Halesworth & District Museum enjoying interviews with long standing residents of the town and district. In her address Mrs Liddell spoke of Jenny’s strength as a caring and attentive friend and Mrs Jo Francis another friend of long-standing spoke of her ability to bring fun and laughter to their wide circle of friends. In a tribute to his mother Jonathan referred to her down-to-earth matter-of-fact acceptance of what life had brought her, her unfailing backing for her family and her courage and positive approach in her final days. She leaves her husband, two children and six grandchildren. The family mourners were her husband Vic Gray, Jonathan and Lucy Gray and their children Ethan, Daisy and Martha, Kate and Lee Jane, Mr & Mrs James Whittle (brother), Mrs

Mary Smith (sister) and Peter Smith. Among those present were friends from Cambridge, Ipswich, Essex, Halesworth Library, Museum, Community Choir, the Pakefield singers, and a large number of others from Halesworth and District. There was a floral tribute from

the family. Donations in memory of Jenny are invited for the East Coast Hospice and may be sent to Rosedale Funeral Home, 19 Market Place, Halesworth IP19 8BB.

WE held our Step One course in the ‘understanding Yourself’ series over the first weekend in November. A good number attended and people were clearly helped. Feedback was very positive and included such comments as, ‘It’s opened my eyes and given me greater understanding of myself and others’ and ‘Very enlightening. The start of a new journey.’ It is always encouraging to see relationships being put back together. The second weekend saw

men travelling in from different parts of the country. The purpose of this course was to help men understand and relate better to the ladies in their lives. One comment at the end was, ‘Excellent session. Brilliant content and very well presented.
