The fallen remembered
A CROWD lined the streets from Holmesdale School to the ceme- tery for the Remembrance Day Parade in Snodland. The 17th Tonbridge Scout and
Guide Band led the parade from the school along Malling Road, High Street and Constitution Hill to the cemetery. They were supported by Snod-
land Army Cadets, the Explorer Scouts, Scouts, Beavers, Cubs and Brownies. The service was taken by the
Rev Hugh Broadbent, Rector of Snodland, Father Peter Soper, the Rev Sue Brooks and the Rev Mandy Young. Wreaths were laid by members
of Hill 60 Shell Hole, the Moths (Memorable Order of Tin Hats);
Sue Bell representing MP Tracey Crouch; David Lettington repre- senting Mark Rhodes, Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling; the town council; Kent Police; Kent Army Cadets; the Snodland Partnership and Snodland Labour Party. Karen Sowten, chief executive
of the town council, said about 500 people attended the service and thanked members of Snod- land Town Active Retirement As- sociation (STARA) for the sound system, the marshals and mem- bers of the public for their pa- tience during road closures. “It was a lovely day, the service
was lovely and it was good to see so many people come back to the community centre after the cere- mony,” she added.

Poppy appeal

ise the Poppy Appeal in Snodland but as Town talk went to press it was not known how much was raised.
Lights for life
SNODLAND residents can dedicate a Light for Life for a loved one at the town's Christmas tree in St An- thony's Court in the High Street. The dedication costs £2 and a dedication form can be obtained from the council office at Waghorn Road, Snodland ME6 5BQ. Forms must be returned by December 16.
