International Confederation of Art & Antique Dealers

T

he collection of arts has been actively developing in Russia within recent decades. Te realities of the present time assume the existence of a civilised market where parties share the same aims and purposes and are ready to exchange information and experience concerning the sale and purchases of objects of cultural values. It became necessary to coordinate an institution based on general ethics, international agreements and local laws. Tus in 2004 the CIS & Russia International Confederation of Art & Antique Dealers (ICAAD) was formed. It now includes the most competent and long- existing Russian galleries. Te CIS & Russia International Confederation of Art & Antique Dealers is open to those art dealers who are ready to meet the requirements of the ICAAD and accept the Code of Practice.

Since April 2008 the CIS & Russia

International Confederation of Art & Antique Dealers has been realising the process of accreditation of art experts under the ICAAD. Due to specifics of Russia the list of experts who have got accreditation under the ICAAD includes art dealers and representatives of the leading Russian museums with details of particular specialisations. In 2010, the Guild of Art Appraisers of the CIS & Russia International Confederation of Art & Antique Dealers was formed. Twice a year, in spring and in autumn, most of the members participate in the Russian Antique Salons, held at the Central House of Artists in Moscow, Russia. For over fifteen years, the exhibition has been the leading provider for the presentation of Russian old and modern art, both in Russia and abroad.
