IT IS never too late to make a fresh start by taking up new activities or making new friends. The many clubs and organisations in the Malling Action Partnership area cater for a wide range of interests and offer a warm welcome to newcomers, so why not give them a try? Details of regular meetings are listed on this page.

Saturday, November 12 Offham Farmers’ Market, 10am to 1pm at Spadework, Teston Road, Offham.
Saturday, November 12 The Offham Society’s Annual Trivial Pursuits evening will be held in the Village Hall at 8pm. Bring your friends and come and enjoy a light-hearted quiz. To reserve your table, call Patrick Bligh on 01732 842952. Ticket price includes a ploughman’s supper and a glass of wine.
Sunday, November 13 Remembrance Sunday, Kings Hill. There will be a joint Remembrance Sunday service hosted by St Gabriel’s, Kings Hill and the Kings Hill Christian Fellowship. The service will take place outdoors at the Running Airman memorial on Gibson Drive, Kings Hill.
A parade of the uniformed organisations will commence from the Control Tower at 10.30am. The service will be led by the Rev Matt Ross, pastor of Kings Hill Christian Fellowship, and the Rev David Green, priest-in-charge of St Mary’s, West Malling. Please note that Gibson Drive will be (in part) closed to traffic for the duration of the service.
Sunday, November 13 Remembrance Sunday open day at The Twitch Heritage Centre at Douce’s Manor, St Leonard’s Street, West Malling. In addition to the permanent text and photographic exhibition about West Malling Airfield and the display of artefacts from the time when the manor was an officers’ mess, there is also a new exhibition by Ron Martin on “Butchers, Bakers and Grocers – bygone shopkeepers of West Malling”. The Heritage Centre will be open from 11am to 4pm.
Wednesday, November 16 Come along to The East Malling Centre and enjoy a fun workshop marzipanning, icing and decorating your own Christmas cake with the help of an experienced cake decorator. Cost is £20 per person, to include marzipan, icing, tea and coffee and a light lunch. Please bring your own fruit cake - homemade or shop-bought. Call 01732 846314 or email

Saturday, November 26 Grand Christmas Craft Bazaar at the Church of St John the Baptist, Tonbridge Road, Wateringbury.
More than 20 stalls full of items by local crafts people.
Refreshments available including mulled wine and mince pies. There will be a raffle, cake stall,
East Malling Singers rehearse on Wednesday evenings, 8pm to 10pm, at St James the Great Church, East Malling.
Kings Hill Rotary meets every Monday at 7.30pm at the Spitfire Pub.
Chip Productions Drama Group meets Fridays at 7.30pm at West Malling Village Hall.
Malling Photographic Society meets every Tuesday at West Malling Village Hall at 8pm.
The Heath Players meet at the East Malling Institute, Mill Street, at 8pm on Fridays.
Malling Rotary meets Tuesdays at 6.30pm at Spadework, Teston Road, Offham.

East Malling Women’s Institute meets at the East Malling Institute behind the King and Queen pub on the third Monday of every month, 7.45pm to 9.45pm.
LeyARA meets on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm at the Leybourne Village Hall. Speaker, raffle and refreshments.

Malling Art Society meets every Thursday at Offham Village Hall, 8pm to 10pm.
Malling District U3A Monthly meetings are held at Ryarsh Village Hall, starting at 2pm, on the fourth Tuesday of the month throughout the year.
Baby and toddler group meets every Wednesday at St James the Great, East Malling. Lots of fun for all children and babies. Starts at 1.30pm.
Saturday, December 17 East Malling Singers Christmas Carols. The concert starts at 7.30pm at the Church of St James the Great, Church Walk, East Malling. Tickets are available from Sue Greenham, call 01622 750943, or on the door subject to availability.
Thursday, December 24 Christingle service, St Mary’s Church, West Malling. Times to be confirmed. Annual family service with carols and the lighting of Christmas candles in the church. All the children receive Christingles with all the trimmings.
Saturday, January 28 Grand Stamp Fair at East Malling Village Hall, New Road, East Malling, 9.30am to 3.30pm. There will be 14 dealers’ tables in the large hall and there will be stamp displays on the stage.

Mereworth church children’s choir meets every Wednesday. The children’s choir is a free after- school group which rehearses at 6.30pm. Parents welcome. Conductor: Stephen Thomas, 01732 321114. Y1 and up – no need to pre-book.
Addington Bridge Club meets every Tuesday from 7pm in the sports pavilion, Park Road.
Junior ParkRun The Manor Park, West Malling, Junior ParkRun starts at 9am with a series of 2k runs for children aged four to14, every Sunday.
Adult 5k runs
Leybourne Lakes Country Park, Larkfield. Adult 5k runs are held every Saturday, starting at 9am. The runs are free of charge. All you need to do is register your details at:
