Located in the quaint village of Kingsland, opposite a plush green and the marvellous church, Herefordshire’s gorgeous countryside adds to the journey to this great eatery, and to your visit when there! During the warmer months you can enjoy your food from the newly refurbished outside seating areas, which are busy with locals and visitors from further-a-field who have heard of The Angel Inn’s reputation. Taking in the surrounding views, it’s the perfect place to enjoy one of the crisp Hereford ciders or golden Hereford ales.
This charming Grade II listed building is ready and raring for the chilly nights ahead. The cosy interior mixes the dining area with the bar, enabling guests to mix with drinkers, or dine in a world of their own within one of the more secluded areas. Soaked in candlelight it’s quite the romantic atmosphere. In addition to the atmosphere and setting, the food is the real draw, the focus is on locally sourced produce which features heavily on the menu, making the meals almost hand-picked by guests who frequently visit! Sourcing locally not only enables The Angel Inn to support local farmers, but also ensures that guests not only get the feel of Herefordshire during their visit, but also the wonderful taste of it!
With starters to settle any rumbling stomachs, and mains to tingle all arrays of taste buds, you can be assured of mouth- watering dishes. A huge favourite is their Herefordshire Ale Beer Battered Fish and Hand Cut Chips, served with a slice of lemon to ensure the best taste, and their homemade tartar sauce. If you’re looking for something a little more daring, the Duck Breast served with homemade Dauphinoise Potatoes and Cumberland Sauce is simply stunning and a dish the owner would recommend every time.
Due to the open beams and characterful décor, Christmas is drawn to The Angel like a moth to a flame. Available for Christmas parties, for £10 per person they are also open on Christmas Day with lunch being served for £15, as well as a personal Ho-Ho-Ho from owner, Sarah Cameron-Swan.
The Angel plays host once again to the fantastic band ‘Front Runner’ on New Year’s Eve with standing ovations every time they perform, they are the perfect way to say goodbye to another year. Food will be served before the act, allowing you to regain the energy needed for a much anticipated dance and sing-a-long.
