Road signs County Councillor Sarah Hohler was arranging for road signs to be cleaned and vegetation to be cut back in Oam. Highways Planned works to North Meadow and Church Road had been postponed. Environmental Enhancement Kent Highways had delayed the start of the Environmental Enhancement Scheme works. KCC had indicated a number of reasons for the delay, although itwas agreed thiswas unsatisfactory. The parish council was continuing to chase for more information and a start date. Cllr Hohler said she would fund a speed indicator device to be installed at the eastern entrance to the village when works had finished. Book Box Thiswas beingwell-used and planswere underway to arrange defibrillator training. Play area Itwas agreed that the replacement of thewet pour surfacing would be the new village project.

Local produce picks up prizes


THERE was a bumper crop of fruit and veg on display at the annual Larkfield flower, vegetable, fruit and produce show.


Organiser Sylvia Ratcliff said:“We had double the entries this year including some children, sowere very pleased with our hard work.” Atotal of 32 exhibitors, including eight under-12s, entered the show at Larkfield and East Malling Methodist Church Hall. Overall winner was Mike Sutton, who

The council asked to be kept informed of the situation. Community asset Itwas agreed unanimously that The Swan on the Green was a potential community asset.
