tion has appeared in previous is- sues of Town Talk and a foreword by the Rev Hugh Broadbent, Rec- tor of Snodland, says: "This cal- endar has been produced for two main reasons. "First to celebrate the many beautiful and historically fascinat- ing places in and around Snod- land and, secondly, to raise funds for what is our most important local treasure, All Saints’ Church." A grant of £25,000 has been re- ceived from the Heritage Lottery Fund for the development stage of a restoration project, and money raised from the sale of the calendar will go towardsmatch-funding. The calendar costs £2 from

‘Romford Pele’ at charity night

Primary’s pink event for cancer


SNODLAND Church of England Primary School raised more than £4,000 in a Race 4 Life cancer charity afternoon, smashing its target of £1,600. The course was set up at Potyns Sports Ground and all the children


and staff took part, completing either 1km or 2km, depending on their age. Everyone was presented with a Race 4 Life medal. Head teacher Holley Hunt said: "It was fantastic to see a sea of pink

Fifty years of Patio picnic fun raises £742


A LARGE crowd of supporters attended the annual Picnic on the Patio at the Monks Head, Constitution Hill, Snodland. Some of the younger people are pictured having fun while many of

Landlord Del Rainbird thanked customers for their support and an- nounced that the event had raised contributions of £371 each for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and Demelza House.

Joy worked as a cashier at Wool- worths, Maidstone and then for Sheppard Brothers, Aylesford. She later worked at Sandhole Farm, Ham Hill, Manor Farm,Watering- bury and Tesco at Lunsford Park. Whenshe retired in 2003 she worked at Teston Farm Shop.
